Industrial Designer

Inspired by the British Moped, I designed The Great Game, a children's balance bike, for a second-year Humber College class in Ergonomics. The project had the following requirements:
1. Ergonomics - the bike had to accommodate a child between the ages of three and five.
2. Materials - materials and finishes had to be child-friendly, and ideally recyclable.
3. Manufacturing - the bike had to be easy for the manufacturer to pack into a box, and for the parent to assemble.
4. Safety - the bike had to be safe for a child to use, with no finger-traps.
5. Extra feature - there had to be one extra feature, such as a handle to carry the bike, or a basket/storage section for the child to use.
Stage 2: Select 1-2 designs to further develop. Create detailed 1:4 scale sketch models.
Stage 3: Finalise design with drawings, exploded view(s) and a 1:2 scale model with scaled child/doll.
